Martín Códax, Winery of the Year

Wiki Spanish Food editorial team

Bodegas Martín Códax was named Best Winery by the Sin Mala Uva wine guide, topping off a historic year for the bodega's wines, which have been recognized in leading competitions and wine guides and have received some of the highest possible distinctions.

This new award recognizes the winery's monovarietal, or single-grape, wines, as the guide—written by journalist Ernesto Gallud—is the first publication of its kind which focuses exclusively on these types of wines.

This distinction was announced on November 15th at the award ceremony for the latest edition of the guide which, in 2015, was named Best Guide to European Wines at the Gourmand Awards.

The guide assigns very high scores to the bodega's wines, such as Martín Códax Gallaecia (94 points), Martín Códax Lías (93), Organistrum and Martín Códax (both 92), among others.
