Adding value to spanish exports

Interporc reinforces relations

Wiki Spanish Food editorial team

The Interprofessional Agri-food Organization for White Pigs (INTERPORC) will implement its internationalization plan in Mexico, where it will sign an agreement with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Quintana Roo and the Riviera Maya Hotel Association to provide training and information about cooking with pork products made from white Spanish pigs. These actions will be aimed at more than 100 maître d's and head chefs from leading Mexican restaurants and hotel chains.

From September 21st to the 25th, INTERPORC will meet with a range of Mexican public figures, authorities and opinion leaders, as well as with the procurement managers for the main hotel chains in Quintana Roo and representatives from the HoReCa channel and supermarkets as well as  importers and members of the media.

Mexico is one of the 11 markets with which INTERPORC plans to strengthen its commercial relations and enhance sales with a view to introducing pork products into a growing market. Last year, the sale of ham and Spanish white pork products to Mexico increased by 3.7%, to 1,472 tons. Mexico has notable potential for Spanish pork products, and in the very near future the sector expects to obtain final authorization to export fresh products (meat, offal, lard and bacon).
