As in previous years, Spain will be represented by a large number of companies at Sial Paris 2014. A total of 215 Spanish companies will attend the event, which will be organized into 8 halls with a total area of 3,500 m2, according to ICEX Spain Export and Investment. The fair will be held at the North Paris-Villepinte Exposition Park from October 19th to the 23rd.
This is ICEX's 18th event with an official pavilion, which serves as a meeting point for leading Spanish participants. The three Spanish regions with the greatest amount of participating companies are Extremadura, with 21, Castile-La Mancha, with 15, and Castile-León, with 13.
However, companies from other regions, such as Catalonia and Valencia, among others, are also participating outside the official pavilion.
In terms of sector segments, this year there are 111 general food companies participating, 25 companies specialized in baked goods, 19 in charcuterie, 15 in beverages, 14 in dairy products, 13 in gourmet products, and 9 in fresh and 9 in frozen meat products.
Spain is once again one of the countries with the largest presence at Sial Paris; at the previous edition, it ranked fourth in terms of participants, behind France, Italy and Turkey.
The Spanish products being showcased at the event stand out in terms of quality, among other aspects. Participating companies and associations include Gullón, Paellas Gastraval, Central Lechera Asturiana, Interporc, Juver, Oleostepa, Aceites La Española, Coosur, Aceitunas Torrent, Pescamar, La Vieja Fábrica, Helios, el Gaitero, Apis, PGI Cordero de Extremadura, Quesos El Casar, Golden apples, and García Baquero.
In total, 85% of exhibitors are international companies.
This will be the 26th edition of Sial Paris, a general food fair (processed and fresh foods, wines and other beverages) held every two years exclusively for sector professionals. This year more than 6,300 exhibitors will attend, bringing together a wide range of food sector suppliers. Companies are coming from 105 countries and 85% of exhibitors are international names. There will be 20 product sectors and food channels and 150,000 visitors, a large portion of which are from different countries around the world.
Sial, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, has positioned itself as one of the largest agri-food sector events featuring top-flight products and companies.
Sial 2014 will also be unique in terms of its new structure, organized into 20 sectors, with one new addition: Equipment and Technology, the goal of which is to encourage the flow of visitors and optimize networking.
