Villa Nazules: Paradise, 15 minutes from Toledo

It takes just 15 minutes to get from Toledo, the City of Three Cultures and a UNESCO World Heritage Center since 1986, to Hotel Villa Nazules Hípica Spa, a stunning locale in Almonacid and surrounded by olive trees reminiscent of the Route of Don Quixote. At Villa Nazules, relaxation, peace, good food and horseback riding offer visitors the chance to disconnect and feel special in a natural setting that more than a few people have described as magical.

Hotel, spa, restaurant and horses. Villa Nazules offers much more than just room and board. The rooms, categorized as standard, special, and special gold, offer unique experiences and are decorated distinctly but of them are comfortable and modern. And they all offer views of the olive groves.

Outside, the pool is a wonderful option when the weather is nice, and tennis and paddle courts are available for those guests who enjoy playing. And for those guests that still have energy, there's the option of going mountain biking, enabling you to become one with the environment. The hotel gym is another outstanding option.

After working out, Villa Nazules has its Agua & Luz Spa, the perfect place to disconnect and relax. A heated pool with underwater jets and a waterfall, a foot bath, a Turkish bath, a Finnish sauna, a Scottish shower, a shower with essential oils, heated lounge chairs... the decoration is in harmony with the setting. But not only that: visitors can choose between a range of different kinds of massages, treatments, wraps, a Vichy shower, pressotherapy and an ultrasonic peeling.

Guests will be pleased to hear that after they charge their batteries, both mentally and physically, another surprise is waiting for them in the restaurant. Mar de Olivos is, appropriately enough, located in a tranquil setting, surrounded by beautiful gardens and olive groves. Chema López de la Torre, the chef, uses only top-flight products and ingredients for his creative, exquisite cuisine, which blends Mediterranean gastronomy with traditional recipes from Castile-La Mancha. The result is a delicious selection of dishes that adapt to the seasons. Don't forget to ask to participate in an olive oil tasting.

In addition to the ever-present olive trees, the hotel is surrounded by wheat fields and stunning walking paths, giving guests the chance to enjoy the variety of outdoor activities. Nature fans can also admire the diverse local fauna, including partridges, rabbits, hares, doves, etc.

And if visitors are horse-lovers, they can ride to their hearts' delight at the Club Hípico San José. Easy to access and in an incomparable setting, with views of the Toledo Mountains, together with magnificent facilities and highly-qualified personnel, the equestrian club is a wonderful place for horseback riding, both casual and competitive.

Horseback riding lessons, dressage, training, visits to the San José Stud Farm, school visits, visits to the Antique Carriage Club, horseback riding competitions... at Villa Nazules, horses are also a main attraction. The hotel also hosts conventions, events, parties, etc. This small slice of paradise, located just 20 kilometers from beautiful Toledo, is the focus of this month's section entitled Places.
