Adding value to spanish exports

ElPozo, at Food & Hotel China

Food and Hotel China 2013, the leading agri-food fair in China, was held until Friday, November 15th, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in Pudong (Shanghai).

ElPozo Alimentación currently exports mainly fresh pork and sells cured ham (both white and Ibérico) through several local distributors in China.

ElPozo was one of first three Spanish agri-food companies to obtain approval to export to China in 2008, proof of its interest in selling its products in international markets.

The company has a presence in more than 82 countries worldwide and exports grow by close to 20% annually, far outstripping the sector average.

China has become an important destination for Spanish food products, and exports to that country have rocketed by 64% in the last five years.

In 2012, exports of meat products amounted to 145 million euros, up 54%, and to 108,000 tons, up 34%.

ElPozo Alimentación will also participate in SIAL China, as well as all of the other major fairs in Asia, confirming its staunch commitment to be a renowned supplier of quality meat products to that market.
