ElPozo strengthens its commitment to the Asian giant at Sial China

Wiki Spanish Food editorial team

ElPozo Alimentación had a very successful turn at Sial China, the largest international food and beverage trade fair, with a focus on retail and the HoReCa channel, held in Shanghai.

The Murcian company has been enjoying success in China for several years. In fact, it was one of the first three Spanish agri-food companies to obtain official approval to export there, in 2008.

ElPozo Alimentación remains committed to increasing its commercial presence in China, and expects it to become the world leader in per capita consumption of pork by 2022, surpassing the European Union. With that in mind, ElPozo has created a company in China.

According to Jaime Palafox, manager of economic affairs and internationalization for FIAB, China is "one of the destinations with the greatest growth in exports for the industry since 2007". In 2013, China imported 559 million euros worth of Spanish food and beverages. The primary export from Spain was pork (111 million euros), followed by wine (85 million euros) and olive oil (76 million euros).
