Adding value to spanish exports

Grupo Fuertes strengthens ties with Russia editorial team

ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN, the largest name in agri-food holding company Grupo Fuertes' portfolio, received a visit from Russian ambassador Yuri Korchagin to reinforce relations with the Russian market and strengthen its position there.

Russia is a strategic market for Grupo Fuertes, given its strong economic and demographic potential, demand for imports, and need to revitalize and modernize its productive structure.

For some of the companies comprising Grupo Fuertes, Russia is a very attractive market with considerable potential. As a result, it is investing 126 million euros, along with the leading Russian meat company, to create Tambovskaia Indeika, which will produce and sell turkey meat. That plant will be operational in 2015 and will create more than 1,000 direct jobs.

Ambassador Korchagin was impressed by the level of technology and organization at ELPOZO, which is at the vanguard of the international meat industry. Spanish products are highly rated by consumers in Russia, the sixth-largest economy worldwide with a population of around 140 million.

Another Grupo Fuertes company with commercial interests is Palancares Alimentación, one of the eight cheesemakers in Spain with authorization to export to Russia. This company primarily sells semi-cured mixed milk cheeses and DO Murcia cheeses.

Bodegas Luzón has been operating in Russia since 2007, where its wines are highly valued due to their excellent quality and flavor.
