Adding value to spanish exports

ElPozo focuses more on China editorial team

Chen Yuming, the recently-appointed Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of China visited ElPozo Alimentación in Madrid to strengthen the alliance between the two entities. According to the International Monetary Fund, China has just become the world's leading economic superpower, with a GDP of 17.632 trillion dollars.

ElPozo was one of the first three Spanish agri-food companies to obtain approval to export to China in 2008, proof of its interest in selling its products in international markets.

Mr. Yuming praised the company's innovative Comprehensive Process Control system, which guarantees traceability and, therefore, the quality of the food produced.

ElPozo Alimentación remains committed to growth in China. China is expected to become the world leader in per capita consumption of pork by 2022, surpassing the European Union. In view of this, ElPozo has a company with its own staff in China dedicated to working in this area.

Asia has become one of ElPozo's main export destinations. The company, which is currently a leader in preparing protein-based food solutions mainly exports fresh and Ibérico pork and sells cured ham through several local distributors in China. Its plant recently received authorization to sell its products in Taiwan as well.

The company is committed to promoting itself in China by attending the main agri-food forums, such as the upcoming Food Hotel China 2014, to be held in Shanghai in November.

ElPozo continues to develop its exports and to adapt to the needs and demands of each market. Its brand is available in 82 countries, and the company aims to strengthen its position in geographies with notable potential. In the context of the current economic situation in Spain, ElPozo Alimentación has strengthened its exports, which account for 14% of sales.
