Adding value to spanish exports

El Pozo participates in FOODEX 2015 editorial team

ElPozo Alimentación participated in FOODEX 2015, the largest food fair in the Asia-Pacific region and the third-largest in the world.

The food, beverage and foodservice market in Japan moves 200 billion euros per year. Given Japan's extreme dependence on food imports (with a self-sufficiency capacity of just 40%), ElPozo Alimentación aimed to maximize its participation in the fair, which saw more than 75,000 professional visitors, to develop its commercial foothold in Japan and in Asia in general.

Japan imports 60% of the food it consumes, which has a total price tag of 40 billion euros. It's the fifth-largest destination for Spanish exports in terms of volume (after France, Portugal, Italy and China) and the fourth in terms of export value. Japanese consumers are very curious consumers interested in trying new things and they associate food and drink imported from Europe with quality.

ElPozo Alimentación exports white and Ibérico pork products to Asia, as well as cured meats and ham, as consumers are increasingly sophisticated and interested in gastronomy from other regions. The company sells its products in more than 80 countries, and its strategy is to continue entering new markets and strengthening its position in those where it already operates.
