The 2016 editions of SIAL China (Shanghai, from May 5th to the 7th) and Seoul Food & Hotel (from May 10th to the 13th) attracted thousands of professionals from every segment of the food and beverage industry.
SIAL China 2016, the biggest food and beverage trade show in Asia, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), welcomed leading players in distribution, HoReCa, foodservice, imports and exports, and manufacturing.
The fair had a specific area for the HoReCa channel and an exhibition hall for companies specializing in wines, liquors and meat products.
At SIAL China 2015, 2,734 exhibitors participated (14% more than in 2014) from 61 countries and regions. Of those, 54 were Spanish companies. The fair saw 61,296 visitors, up 11.5% compared with the previous edition.
Numbers for 2016 were expected to far outstrip the figures from previous years. The organization expected more than 2,900 exhibitors and 66,000 visitors.
Once again, the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Seoul hosted Seoul Food & Hotel, the longest-running leading international fair in South Korea. This event arose when two big fairs joined forces: Food & Hotel Korea and Seoul Food, both of which have been held for 29 years. This is a unique event certified by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).
At the 2015 edition, Seoul Food & Hotel welcomed 1,474 exhibitors from 45 countries, 18 of which were Spanish companies, which participated in the official pavilion. A total of 54,117 people visited the event last year.
