Spanish pork heads to Milan

The Interprofessional Agri-food Organization for White Pigs (Interporc) was on hand on June 11th and 12th in the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Milano, one of the core themes of which is "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", with a view to underlining Spain's role as a major supplier of safe, healthy and quality foods due to the sector's commitment to the perfect combination of tradition and innovation.

Representatives from Interporc handed out information about the beneficial qualities of pork, fresh meat, offal and meat products, and organized a program aimed at more than 1,000 visitors and led by master ham-carver Sergio Bellido and chef Fernando del Cerro, whooffered a tasting and cooking demo, carvingham and showing how to best use every part of the pig.

With a view to offering visitors an authentic range of flavors, the pork products available for tasting at Expo Milano were paired with Alhambra Reserva 1925 beer and wines from Bodegas Ramón Bilbao.

Spain is one of the 55 countries with its ownpavilion in Milan and an extensive program of activities aimed at reinforcing the image of Spanish agriculture and food as an example of innovation and sustainability and at highlighting its contribution to feeding the planet, the pork sector being an excellent example.
