Oleoestepa, the best organic extra virgin olive oil

The awards for the best organic olive oil were recently presented in Nuremberg (Germany), with Oleoestepa taking first place. The quality awards are part of the largest organic food fair in the world, which was held in Germany from February 11th to the 14th.

Oleoestepa’s winning extra virgin olive oil is part of its gourmet line, EGREGIO. The oil is made from olives that are harvested early, during the ripening period, which has a strong impact on its sensory profile. The oil is complex, balanced and very fruity, with a variety of aromas reminiscent of green olives and with hints of ripe olives, freshly cut grass, green leaves, artichokes and green wood. It is notable for its balanced palate, which is slightly spicy and bitter, with a touch of sweetness.

This oil is perfect for all kinds of green salads and fresh cheeses, and for drizzling on salmorejo and other cold soups.

It bears the European organic logo, and also has USDA organic certification in the US.

Despite its short history, the company received several awards for quality and presentation during previous harvests, including in Japan (Olive Japan International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, The Olive Oil Sommelier Association of Japan) and the US (Los Angeles International Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition).
