Grupo Fuertes, a holding company, has received the "Internationalization by a large company" distinction from Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo, COFIDES, S.A., at the second edition of its "Internationalization Advancement" Awards, held in Madrid.
Tomás Fuertes, Chairman of Grupo Fuertes, received the award from Jaime García-Legaz, Secretary of State for Trade, at a ceremony at the Círculo de Bellas Artes center, before an audience of business leaders and politicians.
According to the jury, Grupo Fuertes was distinguished for its "optimal rating level, extensive international track-record, support for innovation and respect for the environment".COFIDES uses these awards to recognize the efforts of Spanish institutions and companies involved in the field of promoting international economic activity.
Other winners included Atarfil, Grupo Helios, the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, the Inter-American Development bank (IDB), Valencia's Ministry of Economy, Industry, Tourism and Employment-Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness, and the Exporters and Investors Club.
Grupo Fuertes manages more than 20 companies, with almost 6,000 direct and 30,000 indirect jobs,which operate in a range of sectors, although their main focus is the agri-food industry.
