The 20th edition of Spain's leading international food show, Alimentaria, opens its doors on March 31 2014 at the Barcelona Fair Grounds. The organisers say they have doubled their efforts to attract buyers from all over the world to increase the export opportunities for the show’s 3,800 plus exhibitors. They will champion food innovation and quality by allying the show with gastronomy and haute cuisine to gain greater exposure and international recognition for the foods and beverages showcased by exhibitors.
Alimentaria will practically fill Fira de Barcelona’s entire Gran Via Exhibition Centre and occupy 85,000m2 net space. In the four days - 31 March to April 3 -some 140,000 visitors are expected to visit the fair. Of these, some 35% will come from outside of Spain.
