12-16 November 2013 at Fiera Milano – Rho: these are the dates for the 25th Simei, when the International Exhibition of Machinery for Wine-making and Bottling will be celebrating its first 50 years.
It was in fact 10th November 1963 when the first year of the exhibition was opened. Since then, over the years Simei has become the reference point for the technological development of machines, equipment, products and services for the production, bottling and packaging of wine and drinks more in general.
170 exhibitors for the first year, including 144 Italian and 26 foreign, over an area of 12,000 square metres. The outcome was just as satisfying –11,000 visitors, including 600 foreigners from 27 countries– and was the beginning of a long series of successes, positioning the exhibition accordingly among the International trade fairs not to be missed and one that has stood the test of economic and financial crises. Even last year SIMEI managed to keep up its performance with over 700 exhibitors (from 25 different countries) over an area of 80,000 square metres and over 48,000 trade visitors, including 9,400 foreigners (from 90 different countries).
