Central Lechera Asturiana, in line with its focus on research and health, has signed the protocol to create, and become a trustee of, the Principality of Asturias Biosanitary Research Foundation (FINBA), strengthening its commitment to excellence in biomedical research in the region. FINBA will undertake health research in Asturias. The University of Oviedo and other founding companies like Central Lechera Asturiana are participating in, and also funding, the Foundation, which is being promoted by the Asturian government.
José Armando Tellado, CEO of Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta (CAPSA), signed the deed of constitution on behalf of the company at the new Central University Hospital of Asturias (HUCA), the foundation's future headquarters. The ceremony was presided over by Javier Fernández, President of the Asturias regional government, accompanied by Faustino Blanco, the regional Minister for Health.
In addition to Central Lechera Asturiana, other members on the Board of Trustees include the University of Oviedo, Cajastur, Caja Rural Foundation, Alimerka Foundation, Industrias Lácteas Asturianas, S.A., Kiss Media Group, TSK, EDP Foundation and Banco Sabadell.
