'The right place at the right time'

“The right place at the right time” is the slogan of the fifth edition of Fruit Attraction, the International Fruit and Vegetable Trade Fair, which is organised by IFEMA with the collaboration of FEPEX and will be held from 16 to 18 October in halls 5, 7 and 9 at Feria de Madrid. A major commercial platform for the fruit and vegetable industry, the purpose of which is to contribute to boosting the promotional activity of this powerful business network.

The right place…

Spain is the leading country in fruit and vegetable exports in the world, ending 2012 with a 10% increase in exports compared to the previous year, reaching over 9.5 billion euros, according to estimates from FEPEX, based on the most recent official figures up to November from the Department of Customs and Special Taxes. Added to this is Madrid, which stands out due to its neutrality in the area of production, and whose strategic location as a doorway between America and Europe, its infrastructure, communications and leisure facilities, make it one of the major business cities. In this respect, Feria de Madrid is precisely the largest generator of business in the capital, with experience and quality of installations and services that generate around 40,000 jobs in the Region and revenues of 3 billion.

All of this makes the location of FRUIT ATTRACTION the best option for bringing together the fruit and vegetable industry.

…at the right time

For three days of intensive business relations, this fashionable, young and dynamic event becomes the best stage to show the industry the quality, diversity, flavour and guarantees of the products and services from the various companies. Furthermore, it is in October, the right time for planning winter campaigns with the international distribution channel and making the most of the great opportunities that the Trade Fair offers companies for diversifying export markets.

The results recorded by the Trade Fair in its previous four editions confirm its work as an effective and profitable commercial tool. Last year showed very positive results, despite the difficult economic situation, with 597 exhibiting companies, a surface area of 16,249 m2 and the participation of 28,155 professionals from 72 countries from all over the world, 95.6% of whom said that they would be back for the next edition. These figures demonstrate the interest and support from the fruit and vegetable industry in promoting FRUIT ATTRACTION as an essential instrument for internationalising the industry and as a meeting point for all professionals who make up the entire supply chain.

Fruit Attraction will also be the setting for other conferences and round table sessions, such as Workshop IV and V range, organised by FEPEX; Fruit Retail, hand-in-hand with Alimarket; ICOP 2013; Global Gap tour 2013 Spain event; the Conecta Workshop on distribution, offered by Markets, and the Logistics of exporting to new markets, among others.
