The two Bodega Emina wines received distinctions at the 16th National Edition and the 8th International Edition of the Zarcillo Awards, held in Valladolid from April 29th to May 2nd.
The panel of judges at the 2015 Zarcillo Awards, which comprised 73 wine sector professionals of renowned prestige such as enologists, sommeliers, members of the trade press and international buyers, tasted 1,807 samples from 385 wineries from 20 countries, reflecting how the awards have become the most important competition in Spain.
Heredad de Emina Chardonnay 2014, one of the wines awarded with an Gold Zarcillo, was made with the best Chardonnay grapes from Emina's vineyards at the Las Marcas estate in Villalba de Adaja, an area with unique characteristics due to the low production density. It is the wine's first award, and its vintage was launched on the market just a few months ago.
Emina Verdejo 2014, which received a Silver Zarcillo, is a fresh, elegant wine with a pale straw yellow color and green tones. It has intense, clean aromas, notes of tropical fruit which combine perfectly with scents of white flower and touches of hay, freshly-cut grass and aniseed. It's a persistent wine with a balanced bitter finish and a long aftertaste.
These awards confirm the success that the Bodega is having at the moment, as well as the quality of its wines.
